Congratulations to the 2015 ChangeConnect Award nominees and the winning project, Improving Asset Maintenance, by SA Water supported by Clear Decisions.
The 2015 ChangeConnect Award celebrated and acknowledged the rich and interesting change management projects throughout South Australia, with nominee projects varying in their complexity, challenges and approaches.
“We appreciate that the ability to tell a compelling story is part of a successful award process – yet this skill of storytelling is essential to all change projects, as a way to influence leadership, motivate stakeholders and set a compelling vision for change,” said Erma Ranieri, Commissioner for Public Sector Employment, Office for the Public Sector, and 2015 ChangeConnect Award Judge.
“The standout project for us was one that had depth in the background and need for change. It had strong tangible objectives and metrics that proved the impact. It used a sophisticated approach to manage the process and practical techniques to seek feedback, train staff and embed the change. Significantly, it carefully considered the consumers and what impact the change would make on them and the resulting productivity gains.”
The vision of SA Water’s winning transformative project, Improving Asset Maintenance (IAM), was to speed up the development of their maintenance programs and integrate a new concept into the planning process, to ensure right level of maintenance, on the right assets, at the right time. Outcomes included a robust maintenance planning strategy for the future; decreased workorders and realised benefits of $1.1M year; and greater collaboration across teams.
Judges referred to the project as “carefully crafted change project with an integrated perspective.”
The 2015 ChangeConnect Award was celebrated on the 3 December at Bendigo and Adelaide Bank. SA Water and Clear Decisions have been invited to present their winning project at ChangeJam 16.
